Question: What are conservation quality materials? Answer: We use conservation quality materials in our framing projects unless you request otherwise. Conservation quality mats aid in protecting the framed art or object and the bevels will not yellow over time. We have a wide variety of colors and textures to enhance your framing project. Whether you want a classic look or something new & trendy we can help you to design the best frame package to fit your personal style. Conservation glass has a 97% UV filter which helps to prevent fading. Even low light levels can cause art to fade and less expensive art often fades more quickly. Question: Why is custom framing so expensive? Answer: The process of custom framing involves quality materials and sound knowledge in assembling these materials. Custom framing is labor intensive, and requires skills, training and tools that are specialized. Obviously, the size of an item will influence the price, but also the type of mounting, glass and other variables all contribute. Compared to other custom made items, window treatments or furniture for example, custom framing is actually modestly priced. A well executed custom framed art piece will last many years for you and your family to enjoy. Remember also, that a poorly designed frame may actually do the artwork harm and detract from the presentation. Question: Where do you find so many frame styles? Answer: Locating exciting, new framing sources is an interesting, but never-ending task. We carry a wide variety of mouldings including, Larson Juhl (www.Larsonjuhl.com), Roma and many others.
